Seeking to continue its sales growth for this important product line, Vetoquinol USA asked LePoidevin Marketing to help determine veterinarian and pet owner preferences for veterinary shampoo packaging.
This information was critical because in a mature product market such as this, companies like Vetoquinol USA need to both differentiate their products and provide more value, and in turn more customer satisfaction, than their competitors. Packaging is a major component in these efforts.
LePoidevin Marketing utilized its proprietary, online market research system, PeabodySM — an Interactive Intelligence System, to administer Web-based surveys to both the veterinarian and pet owner audiences.
Survey participants were invited to take the survey via e-mail messages sent to a veterinary and pet enthusiast database. Our survey process generated a representative sample of 227 veterinarian responses (4.95% response rate) and 369 pet owner responses (5.31% response rate).
To provide additional competitor and preference insights, qualitative interviews with veterinarians and company sales representatives were also conducted. The Vetoquinol USA team was very pleased with the results saying that the final report was very thorough and informative; and that the findings confirmed several assumptions they had while also providing new insights into their markets.
