PARRAMATTA’S BOOTH DESIGN

The Parramatta Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Flexible Steel Lacing Company (Flexco), engineers, designs, assembles and installs highly-efficient transfer chutes for the bulk material handling industry. While used in Australia for decades, the company’s Controlled Flow Material Transfer System™ (CFMTS®) technology was new and relatively unknown in North America.

Seeking to establish its identity at Mine Expo, a key industry trade show, the Parramatta Group enlisted the help of LePoidevin Marketing to design their trade show booth. As a new entry in the show, the booth needed to convey as much information as possible to attendees, while providing ample room to interact with prospects.

Due to limited financial and image resources, the Parramatta Group booth had to be used at multiple shows in a variety of configurations, and also include the following:

• Showcase exhibited products
• Product demonstrations
• An area to meet privately with prospects
• Information on Flexco
• Strong visual components
• Viewing area for demonstrations
• Lightweight design
• Easy assembly
• Interchangeable
• Space requirements (20’x 20’)

Up to the task, we created a unique design that offered easy assembly, high visual impact and saved thousands of dollars in construction and shipping costs. The above criteria was met using hexagonally-shaped panels that supported visuals and showcased product. The booth modules are highly inter-changeable, and accommodate any number of floorplans, layouts and product demonstration needs.

The Parramatta Group personnel reported the booth was extremely easy to set up. Most importantly, visitor response has been tremendous. Still in use today, this highly functional booth meets the Parramatta Group’s trade show needs wherever it is utilized.

Due to the fact the movement of coal at coal-fired power generation facilities must have consistent speed, the Parramatta Group identified plants in this market segment as key targets for the use of their CFMTS approach.

In order to gain credibility, we recommended the Parramatta Group identify a successful North American implementation and then develop a case study for placement within a key industry publication. The Ontario Power Lambton Generating Station located in Ontario, Canada was determined to be an excellent choice.

We interviewed key personnel at Lambton and coordinated an extensive video and photo shoot that captured the full extent of the chute installation and the subsequent results. The story was drafted by LePoidevin Marketing, and by-lined by the plant manager of the Ontario facility, as well as a Parramatta representative.

Because of the significant results achieved and compelling imagery, story placement was secured in Coal Power Magazine. The placement proved to be well-timed, for it was also distributed at a significant and well-attended key industry trade show, Electric Power.

The article was quite successful and well-received, and a reprint was subsequently used as a sales tool by the Parramatta sales force. Due to the thoroughness of the interviews and photography, LePoidevin Marketing was able to re-purpose the piece and turn it into literature distributed at yet another key industry tradeshow, Coal-Gen.
