“WE NEED SOME BROCHURES”

If you think our response to that headline should be merely, “OK,”? then we may not be the right agency for you. When Cooper Power Systems told us they wanted a series of brochures for their voltage regulator product line, we responded with questions to insure new brochures were really what they and their sales force needed.

  • Why do you feel you “need”? a brochure?
  • Do your salespeople effectively sell from brochures?
  • How do your customers prefer to receive information on your products?
  • Where and how will the brochures be used?
  • ….and dozens of others.

We then interviewed Cooper customers and salespeople, and found that most existing brochures were merely sent as lead fulfillment or left with customers. Salespeople wanted and needed “detail aids”? that they could use as the basis of presentation.

Initially, a total of five separate brochures were developed. When they were debuted at a Cooper sales meeting, they received a standing ovation from the sales force – a “first”? for Cooper Power Systems – and they have been using them effectively ever since.
